Apart from world famous international productions, the Hungarofest Nonprofit Ltd. KLASSZ Music Office also presents the Chocolate Concerts for children on March 12 at Millenáris. György Lakatos and his bassoon-ensemble will perform games and quizzes, clapping and having fun, Turks and Greeks and St Anthony... All this on one instrument, which is sometimes a danding piece of wood, a slim reed, a humming choir, a military march or a cannon, but nowadays mostly called a 'fabán'.
Organised for the first time in Budapest, the Big Bang Music Festival is representing a new line within the Hungarian children’s programme offering. We are inviting children from 3 years on to embark on an adventurous trip and discover exciting new sounds and forms of music.
They will find out how can they compose music themselves; they will experience how music and dance can help them fight night fiends; they will learn that music can miraculously make art works, such as László Moholy Nagy’s paintings, come to life.
Almost every programme featured in the festival is a novelty for the Hungarian audience, even though some of the performers will look familiar to the young audience. Choreographer Réka Szabó will create an extraordinary musical playground in the Loft. Csaba Méhes and the Brass in the Five will come out with a new production, just like Erzsi Kiss whose exceptional work has been known mainly by adult audiences until now. The Flemish Muziektheater Transparant has already performed in Budapest during the Budapest Autumn Festival, but they are equally well known for their brilliant children’s performances.
The programme includes:
